Our Product

GRIT. One school. One system.

The school operating system we designed, built and run ourselves. It is the clearest example of what True North does for its clients.

Our Product

One school. One system.

GRIT is the school operating system we built for Indian schools: admissions, fees, attendance, timetables, exams, HR, payroll, transport and WhatsApp parent communication in one system, with AI that follows the school's rules.

  • One Database

Students, money, staff and messages share one schema, so nothing is typed twice.

  • A Real Timetable Engine

Google OR-Tools CP-SAT builds clash-free timetables and finds cover for absent teachers.

  • WhatsApp-First

Absence alerts, receipts and results reach parents the moment they happen.

  • Governed AI

Ask GRIT answers inside each person's permissions; question papers come from the school's own syllabus.

Case Study

How we built GRIT.

Every service we offer went into one product. Here is what that looked like.

  1. 01

    Designed With the School

We sat with leadership, the office, teachers and accounts to learn how a school really runs, then designed every screen around the work done most often.

  2. 02

    Engineered as One System

One PostgreSQL schema, one identity model and one academic year, so an admission becomes a student, a fee ledger and a parent login in one step.

  3. 03

    Tested on Every Change

An automated test gate, including a PostgreSQL lane, runs before any release reaches the school.

  4. 04

    Run on AWS in India

Containers on ECS Fargate in Hyderabad, managed PostgreSQL and encrypted, versioned document storage.

“The new interface is simple and easy to use. Compared to what we had before, it is much clearer and easier to navigate.”
